Donation FAQ

Is my data secure?

Yes, our site is encrypted with a current security certificate and payment information never actually comes to our servers. Our payment processors are Stripe or PayPal, both of which employ the most stringent security standards available today. We do not sell, trade, barter, or give away your information.

Can I donate by check or money order?

Yes, please do, if that is your preference. Our mailing address is:

Skagit DVSAS
PO Box 301
Mount Vernon, WA 98273

We will mail you a thank you card and receipt for your records as long as we have a valid return address.

Will I receive verification of my donation for tax purposes?

Yes, you will receive an immediate receipt and acknowledgement of a successful donation. If you choose to give monthly, you will receive a year-end tax receipt for your records.

What if I need to adjust my monthly giving?

That’s totally fine. You’re in control. You can sign in from this website to manage your recurring donation. Stop, pause, start, decrease, or increase any time.

Can I make a gift in someone's honor or memory?

Yes, you can celebrate the life of a survivor by making a donation in their honor or memory. When you complete the form, just select that option before continuing to the second page.

Is anyone notified of my donation in memory or honor of a survivor?

Only if you want them to be. There is an option to notify someone of this gift during the donation process. When you select the option to honor a survivor, other options will become available, such as who (if anyone) to notify and a place for you to include a personal message. Otherwise, no, we don’t inform anyone of this gift, for safety reasons. You will, however, receive a thank-you card from us.

Why should I give monthly?

Every dollar raised matters. However, monthly giving is far and away the best investment one can make in the fight against domestic and sexual violence in Skagit County. Recurring gifts are predictable revenue streams we can count on to keep our doors open. They allow us to focus our efforts on serving our community – rather than fundraising. We would much rather be out there achieving impact than having another raffle or contest to raise funds.

What is your refund policy?

Please reach out to us within 30 days of your donation date if you identify an error in the amount or frequency of the payment. We would be happy to assist you with a refund or adjustment in that case. You may call our office at 360-336-9591, or, contact us via the webform, available here.

What other ways can I help?

We could always use volunteers! Or, take a look at our wishlist for in-kind donations. There are many ways to take action in the fight against domestic and sexual violence – see more here!
