Dear Community,
For the past 14 years a dedicated and generous group of ladies from the Sedro-Woolley area have donated their time, money, and compassion to help support Skagit Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services by organizing and hosting an event called Women Riding for Women. This fun event is a motorcycle ride for women beginning at the Hometown Café and ending with lunch, raffle prizes, and a silent auction at Scooter Stuff. Over the years, this annual event has grown and now raises over $3000 to support crucial programs such as the emergency domestic violence shelter, support groups, the 24-hour hotline, youth empowerment programs, and much more.
In addition to the wonderful group of women, we would like to extend a special thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who sponsored the event and donated items for the auction. These include: Hometown Café, Sunset Park Self Storage, 2 R Construction, Contact Management Services, Smiley’s Inc., Sedro Woolley Vision Center Inc., Hansen’s Furniture & Furniture for Children, Carroll Mill Transport, The Custom Prescription Shoppe LLC, Karen E. Homitz DDS PLLC, Farmers Brothers Coffee, Food Services Inc., Food Services of America, Ron and Ann Struthers, Cliff and Sue Palmer, and Brad and Debbie Strouf.
In these hard economic times, Skagit DV & SA Services has seen a significant increase in requests for emergency services for victims and their children. We are committed to continuing to provide all of our core services free of charge and would not be able to do so without the continued support of the community, business, individuals, and events like Women Riding for Women. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for your support!
Warm holiday wishes,
The Staff and Board of Skagit Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services
