The 18th Annual Women Riding for Women Motorcycle Ride is September 16th, 2012. Registration takes place from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Hometown Cafe, 818 Metcalf St. Sedro Woolley, WA. The last bike is out by 10:30 a.m. The ride ends with lunch at a location yet to be determined. Cost is $15 per bike, $10 for passengers. The Corozon Scarves and Accessories Mother’s Day Sale exclusive, this weekend only! On Saturday, April 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Concrete Theatre, Deborah R. DuPey will present the stories and show photos of the incredible Guatemalan women artisans who make these beautiful scarves and sell them at fair market price. The goal is to empower women overcoming the effects of oppression and violence around the world. The hand-woven masterpieces have become an appropriate symbol for women as they unite globally to work towards their own justice, liberty and economic sustainability. Each piece is unique an will be available for purchase with 15 percent of proceeds benefitting Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services. May 18, 2012 – The 30th Annual Bay View Women’s Walk & Run

Soroptimist International of Burlington, The Breast Care Center, and Skagit Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services present: The 30th Annual Bay View Women’s Walk & Run. This is a 2-Mile Walk, 2-Mile Fun Run, and 10K Run. The race will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2012, at Bayview State Park (Washington State Discover Pass required to park within State Park. Carpooling is encouraged). To register for this event, call 360-757-4815, email bvwomensk@gmail.com, or register online at active.com by the May 4, 2012 deadline. An 8-week DV Support Group is available for all women who are current or former survivors of verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse by a partner.
